There is an excellent workbook accessible online– produced by the Meriden Family Programme and Rethink – ‘Caring for Yourself’. This is a self-help workbook for families and friends supporting people with mental health problems.
Everything in Caring for Yourself comes from the experiences of others who have cared for people with mental illness, or from professionals. There are exercises and activities to help you develop skills to cope better with your situation, whatever it is.
It is in eight parts – each covering a different topic:
